Angkor is an active religious site. To climb to the upper terrace of Angkor Wat (Bakan), shoulders and knees must be covered. Light linen trousers or a long skirt and a T-shirt with sleeves work well.
What to bring
Comfortable closed shoes for steep steps, a hat, and a light scarf you can use to cover your shoulders. Avoid clothing with religious imagery.
Behaviour at the temples
Remove hats inside shrines, do not touch or sit on carvings, and ask before photographing monks.
