Two days at Angkor, then a long day north to the pyramid of Koh Ker and Beng Mealea.
The first two days cover the main temples, sunrise, Banteay Srei and the Grand Circuit.
On day three you drive about two and a half hours north to Koh Ker, a 10th-century capital with a seven-tiered pyramid rising from the forest, then stop at Beng Mealea on the way back.

Start inside the walled city of Angkor Thom, step through the root-wrapped corridors of Ta Prohm, then save Angkor Wat for the softer afternoon light before climbing Phnom Bakheng for sunset.
